The Most Awkward Word in the English Language

After much deliberation, I have concluded that it's "Jewess," which is what I am. How fitting.

But hey, if you think there's a word that's more awkward than that, leave a comment with what it is. I will be giving a prize, and by prize I mean shout-out on this blog, to anyone who definitively beats the awkwardness of Jewess.

  2. I feel like most old slangy racial terms are super-awkward (octoroon comes to mind). But Jewess is definitely up there.

  3. I'm with Josh on moistness. I can't stand the word moist, or any variations of it.

  4. Niggardly.

    There, I said it.

  5. i've always really liked (in an awkward sort of way) "teamster", especially because the word is adorable and it describes something stereotypically not adorable, ie a truck driver. i crumble when i hear about teamsters' unions.

update: my verification word was "croidi", which is pretty awkward.
